Volunteer Support Worker Jobs
Location: Sandwell
Type: - Volunteer
Hours: Flexible (Typically 10–15 hours per week)
Reports To: Service Delivery Manager
Role Overview:
As a Volunteer Support Worker, you will help people living in supported accommodation by offering practical help and emotional support. This role is perfect if you have life experience, want to make a difference, and are willing to support others in their daily lives. Training will be provided, and no formal experience is necessary.
Main Duties:
- Assist tenants with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, attending appointments, and other daily activities.
- Support tenants in managing their health, including helping them access local health services and reminding them of appointments.
- Join tenants in social and recreational activities, helping them engage with the community and build social connections.
- Perform regular check-ins with tenants to ensure their needs are being met and provide any assistance required.
- Offer emergency help when needed and help ensure the accommodation is a safe and supportive environment.
Who Can Apply:
- People who are kind, patient, and good at communicating with others.
- Previous experience in social care or support work is a bonus but not required.
- A DBS check will be needed (we’ll help you with this).
- Full training will be provided, so you’ll have the skills and knowledge to support tenants confidently.
